August 13, 2017 Morning Worship
Summer comes to a close, as does Vine Street’s summer sermon series, but members and guest were anxious to hear a word from the Lord again this week.
Deacon Donnie Aebersold opened the service when he read Psalm 24:1-6 and saying a prayer. Worship Leaders Jacob and Jaime Hatcher led the congregation in singing.
- In the Garden
- The Old Rugged Cross
After a few minutes greeting one another, Senior Pastor Spencer Harmon said a pastoral prayer and asked the ushers to collect today’s offering. While the plates were passed, Spencer presented a few announcements
- Back to School Bash backpack packing today at 4:30pm
- Person of Jesus Bible Study tonight at 6:00pm
- Women’s Bible Study now meeting weekly on Tuesday
- Back to School Bash on Wednesday this week
Spencer addressed some pastoral concerns, and said a prayer for those concerns. At the end of the prayer, singing continued.
- O Praise the Name
- I Need Thee Every Hour

After the sermon, the congregation stood and sang Take My Life during a time of reflection. Brandon closed the service with an invitation for anyone to speak to a pastor after the service about church membership, becoming a Christian, or to discuss today’s sermon. He read a closing benediction passage, then dismissed the group.
