August 23, 2009 PM Worship Service

Tonight’s service was atypical: the gathered read the lyrics to Martin Luther’s A Mighty Fortress is Our God, before singing the first few stanzas.

Interim Pastor, Ben Dockery, continued a series of studies on church history.  During Lesson Four, a great deal of time was focused on the work of Martin Luther and others in his time period.  A clip from the movie, Luther, was used to emphasize Luther’s passion for the common people and not the upper-class ways of the church, as well as the trials that Luther was subjected to.
