July 16, 2017 Morning Worship
Members of Vine Street Baptist welcomed many new and returning guests this morning, as people from the neighborhood and surrounding communities are searching for a place to worship and learn more about a relationship with Jesus.
The service started with Deacon Donnie Aebersold reading Psalm 145:14-21 and saying a prayer. Today, new member Nolan Holdge led the congregation in songs while he played piano. He invited everyone to stand and sing.
- Praise to the Lord the Almighty
- Great is Thy Faithfulness
A few minutes was spent in fellowship, where everyone greeted one another, then Senior Pastor Spencer Harmon gave a few announcements. He then said a pastoral prayer. The ushers collected the offering while Nolan sang, and the congregation joined him as they became familiar with a new song.
- Your Love Never Fails
- The Love of God (Is Greater Far)
Spencer returned to the pulpit and read today’s sermon scripture before delivering today’s message.
The message continues the Summer Stories sermon series. The full audio can be heard by clicking on the date link below, or right-click and select “Save As” to save the file to your computer. Click on the scripture reference to follow along with the reading.

After the sermon, the congregation stood and sang Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus during a time of reflection. Spencer closed the service with an invitation for anyone to speak to a pastor after the service about church membership, becoming a Christian, or to discuss today’s sermon. He read a closing benediction passage, then dismissed the group.
