June 25, 2017 Morning Worship

Excitement continues to build among the members and guests of Vine Street Baptist Church as they anticipate the arrival of Concord Student Ministry.  They will arrive and spend a week in Louisville, helping our church with some ministry needs in the neighborhood and with some sister churches and other organizations.

The service began with Deacon Betty Jeffries reading Isaiah 55:1-3 and saying a prayer.  Guest worship leader, Joey Eaton, encouraged the gathered to stand and sing to God.

  1. Come Ye Sinners
  2. There is a Fountain

After a few minutes greeting each other and warmly welcoming guests, Senior Pastor Spencer Harmon introduced Joey to everyone.  Joey Eaton is the Senior Pastor of Garfield Avenue Baptist Church on the west side of town.  They are a church similar in size and ministry to Vine Street, and both churches have partnered with one another a number of times.  Spencer also recapped the events of the coming week, including the ministry Concord Student Ministry will be doing, the movie event this Friday, and a Women’s Bible Study on Tuesday.

Spencer said a pastoral prayer over a variety of concerns, then the ushers collected the offering.  While the offering was collected, Joey read Psalms 107:1-16 to introduce the next two songs, then asked everyone to stand and sing:

  • All I Have is Christ
  • Solid Rock

Pastor Spencer read today’s sermon scripture and delivered today’s message.

The message continues the Summer Stories sermon series. The full audio can be heard by clicking on the date link below, or right-click and select “Save As” to save the file to your computer.  Click on the scripture reference to follow along with the reading.
