Sunday, August 24 2008 Evening Worship

Senior Pastor Michael Snearly opened the service with a story about a recent visit to a church in California. This church appears to have a very laid back approach to worship planning, yet the service still flowed and people were blessed. This story was the background to him being doubling as tonight’s Worship Leader and led the congregation through three hymns.

  • 379 – Brethren We Have Met to Worship
  • 14- Praise the Lord, the Almighty
  • 142-There is a Fountain

Snearly continued the sermon series, Why I Am a Baptist, with a teaching on BFM Article XII – Education. Snearly points out the importance of education as outlined in the Bible and why Baptists see organized training is vital. An audio file of the sermon is available on request. Please send an email to info@vinestreetbaptist.org.

In conclusion, the congregation sang Hymn 411-‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus
