April 9, 2017 Morning Worship
Spring was certainly evident in the VSBC Sanctuary, with new window decorations and plant arrangements throughout. Guests and members remembered Palm Sunday as they progressed through Worship.
The service began with Deacon Donnie Aebersold reading Hosea 6:1-3 and saying a prayer. Worship Leaders Jacob and Jaime Hatcher led the gathered through some songs.
- Hosanna (Praise is Rising)
- O Worship the King
A time of greeting one another was given, then Associate Pastor Brandon Saunders gave some announcements:
- Continuing through the Bible book of 2 Corinthians this morning
- The Person of Jesus study tonight covers Romans 12
- Business Meeting after tonight’s study
- Women’s Bible Study begins studying the book of Jonah this Tuesday
- Neighborhood Party is Wednesday
- Youth Camp sponsorship continues
Brandon said a pastoral prayer, including those killed in an Egyptian church bombing, then the service continued with the offering. Jacob sang Oh Heart Bereaved and Lonely as a special song for the congregation to contemplate the meaning of the lyrics, then invited everyone to stand and sing Here I Am to Worship together.
Matt Roberts read today’s sermon passage, then Senior Pastor Spenser Harmon delivered today’s message.
The sermon continues the verse by verse series through 2 Corinthians. The full audio can be heard by clicking on the date link below, or right-click and select “Save As” to save the file to your computer. Click on the scripture reference to follow along with the reading.
